A team is put together to try to rescue him. but as far as i know, the Germans lost many men in the woods, so i will go with their high losses. The characters were so sappy that at times I thought that they are about to degenerate into a bilious puddle of goo, and the action was so convoluted and poorly cut that it looked as it the soldiers were merely standing around and taking turns shooting at one another. It makes me grateful that this true tale (which I had heard mention of - but didn't really know) has been dramatized. This could have been a good movie about a historical battle, but it really ruined the movie that all the German soldiers act like complete morons in every battle against the Americans. its the same guy yelling the same insults (in bad spoken German) all the time, its really funny to hear if you speak German.
